Set up in Reviews → Import / Export

Evident imports reviews from a CSV export. Column mappings are pre-set per source, with a manual mapping step for anything unrecognised.

Sync your catalogue first

Reviews match to products. Import before the catalogue has synced and every row fails.

The identifier is what goes wrong

Your export contains the old platform’s internal product ID; your Evident catalogue is keyed on your ecommerce platform’s product ID or SKU. If they do not match, nothing attaches — and the import still reports itself as finished.

Import fifty rows first and check how many attached. If it is zero, remap the product column. An import reporting Completed with zero attached reviews has not worked, whatever the badge says.

Map the original date

Evident orders approved reviews by published date, falling back to creation date. Without a date column, five years of reviews all appear to have been written on your migration day — which looks exactly like a store that bought a thousand fake reviews.

Images are re-hosted

Image URLs in the export are downloaded and stored by Evident, not hotlinked. This matters: images linked to your old provider’s CDN stop resolving the day you stop paying them, taking your photo reviews with them.

Let the image phase finish before cancelling anything with your old provider.

Verified purchase

Imported reviews are verified only if the matching orders are in Evident. Backfill order history first if the badge matters.

After importing

Imported reviews land in the normal moderation queue. Filter to the batch, spot-check a sample, bulk approve.

Exporting

The same screen exports to CSV — everything, or a filtered selection. No fee, no notice period.

Worth doing periodically whether or not you are going anywhere. The review corpus is the asset; hold a copy.
