Omnisend review request automation
When Omnisend is connected, Evident fires a evident_review_request event to Omnisend instead of sending the email itself. You build the automation in Omnisend — full control over template, timing, and segmentation.
How it works
Order placed
Evident detects the order and waits for your configured delay (e.g. 7 days) before acting.
Event fires after delay
Evident sends "evident_review_request" to Omnisend with order, product, and review link data.
Your automation sends immediately
Omnisend triggers your workflow right away — no extra delay needed. The timing is already baked in.
Connect Omnisend in Evident
Go to Settings → Integrations in your Evident dashboard and click Connect next to Omnisend. Paste in your Omnisend API key — you can find it under Omnisend → Settings → API Keys.
Once connected, Evident routes all review request events through Omnisend for that store. Evident's built-in timing (e.g. 7 days after order) still applies — Omnisend handles the send.
Create an automation in Omnisend
In Omnisend, go to Automation → New Workflow → Build from scratch. Set the trigger to Custom event and enter evident_review_request as the event name.

Add an email send action
Add a Send Email step immediately after the trigger — do not add a time delay. Evident already holds the event until your configured delay has passed. Adding a delay in Omnisend too would stack on top and double the wait.
Available event properties
Evident passes the following properties on every evident_review_request event. Reference them in your Omnisend template using {{event.property_name}}:

In the Omnisend template builder, insert event properties from the Personalization panel — Omnisend auto-populates properties it has seen from past events. Use the test event sender in Evident to populate them before building your template.
Add a reminder step (optional)
After the first email, add a Time Delay of 5–7 days, then a second Send Email step with a reminder template. Add a Conditional Split before the reminder that checks whether the customer has already fired an evident_review_submitted event — skip the reminder if they have.
Conditional split condition: "Contact has triggered event — evident_review_submitted — at least once — since entering workflow". Route the Yes branch to Exit; route the No branch to the reminder email.
Activate the automation
Set the automation status to Running. The next time a customer's order triggers a review request from Evident, Omnisend will fire the automation and send your email.
Verify the integration by going to Settings → Integrations → Omnisend → Events & Test in Evident. Send a test evident_review_request event — it will appear in Omnisend under Automation activity and populate the personalization panel for template building.
